Newsletter Week of November 20th

Thank you!

Faithbridge received a thank you note for our quilting group. They donated five beautiful quilts to the Festival of Sharing. This event raised a total of $27,000, which will support programs that provide safe water for drought areas, literacy training for women, rebuilding assistance in disasters and aid for refugees. Thank you for demonstrating God’s love for our community in a tangible way!

Ways to Get Connected

Christmas Cookies

As in past years, we will be collecting and distributing cookies to those people who serve the community by working the midnight shift on Christmas Eve. This includes fire, ambulance, and police stations, toll bridge workers, and others. If you are able to bake goodies for the care packages which will be delivered on Christmas Eve or help with delivery, please sign up in the church lobby this Sunday.

For more information please contact Ginger Henry at (573) 619-5204 or Samantha Marsicovetere at (573) 280-3198.

Christmas Bell Ringing

We could use some more help with the Salvation Army bell ringing program this holiday season. Please sign up in the church lobby if you are available to help. Faithbridge will be covering Fridays through December 22nd.

Faithbridge Family Christmas Party

Don’t forget to invite a friend or two to join us on Friday, December 15th for our Christmas party? This is the perfect time to reach out and invite your friends and neighbors. Sign up in the church lobby for the pot-luck and sign up to purchase show tickets for the group rate.

Hope House Volunteer Days

The next Hope House Volunteer Days are November 29th (Wed.), December 1st (Fri.) and 2nd (Sat.) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m

Christmas Eve Service

Please plan to join us at 6:30PM on Sunday, December 24th for our Christmas Eve Candlelight service. This will replace our usual Sunday morning service.

Pastor’s Piece

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I do hope you have a blessed week with family and friends as we all take time to pause and be thankful for what God has done in our lives. As we prepare our hearts for this holiday of gratitude, remember the Apostle Paul’s words from 1 Thessalonians 5:

“Live in peace with each other. Brothers and sisters… comfort the discouraged. Help the weak. Be patient with everyone… Rejoice always. Pray continually. Give thanks in every situation because this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus… Now, may the God of peace himself cause you to be completely dedicated to him; and may your spirit, soul, and body be kept intact and blameless at our Lord Jesus Christ’s coming. The one who is calling you is faithful and will do this.”

When your holidays are finished, join us for worship on Sunday- and bring the family if they’re still in town! Our Education Minster, Abby Peper, will be finishing up our series on Wesley’s 3 Rules with a sermon about Wesley’s first rule: “Do No Harm.” Often, it seems, this rule is a no brainer. Don’t hurt people. But what do we do when it’s not clear whether or not our actions might do harm? What should a Christian do? Come worship with us Sunday, and discover what Wesley’s 3 Rules from nearly 250 years ago have to say to us in our lives today.

Blessed to bless,

Pastor Andy
