Newsletter Week of November 12th

Pastor’s Piece

If you missed it, I would strongly encourage you to watch last week’s sermon at http://www.faithbridgelakechurch.com/watch-the-service.  On Sunday I unpacked our new mission, vision, strategies, and values that our church’s next leaders have been working on together.  Here are our new mission and vision statements:

Our mission at Faithbridge Church is to make new, stronger, and active disciples of Jesus Christ.

Our vision to be a bridge of faith for young families and retirees at the Lake.

I also gave you an opportunity to “vote” on a sermon or possible series of sermons that you would invite a friend to come hear.  I’ll give you a chance to do that again this week, so keep thinking about some things your friends are going through and might need to hear or want to learn about.

This week we’re going to be talking about money.  Money was the topic that Jesus spoke about more than anything else other than the Kingdom and Love of God.  The people in Jesus’ day struggled with their relationship with money, and many of us continue to struggle with money today.  How tightly do we hold onto our money?  How generous are we with it?  Generosity is one of the fruits of the Spirit outlined in Galatians, and it’s a non-negotiable in the Christian faith.  Join us Sunday as we see what God’s Word has to say about money and generosity.

Blessings,

Pastor Andy

Estimate of Giving

Don’t forget to bring your Estimate of Giving card this Sunday. It’s the time of year that our church leadership sits down and prayerfully considers what we feel God is leading us to do next year.  That process begins with prayer, planning, and dreaming.  But before a plan can be put into place, we need to know what we believe our financial situation may be.  Please prayerfully and thoughtfully consider the investment you plan to make in Faithbridge Church in 2019.  We know that everyone is able to give at different levels, and that’s ok.  All that we ask is that you write down whatever you plan to give.  Then, we will all bring our cards this Sunday, and prayerfully dedicate them to God during our worship service.

If you’re unable to attend, please print out the attachment on this email.  You can fill it out and return it during office hours (9am-2pm Tues-Thurs) or mail it back to the office anytime.  Thank you for your continued generosity, and thank you for your continued commitment to Faithbridge Church.

  Ways to Get Connected

Volunteers Needed

Hope House has a real need for additional volunteers to help out. If you might be interested in investing a few hours each month in this valuable ministry, please contact Harriet McDonald at 573-480-2262 or the church office. The tasks are simple; running a cash register, folding clothes, etc… You can commit to a single day or more. Any help would be appreciated.

The next Hope House Volunteer Days are November 28th (Wed.), 30th (Fri.) and December 1st (Sat.) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.

Christmas at Faithbridge

Mark your calendars now.  On Sunday morning, December 9th, the Faithbridge Choir will present their Christmas Cantata, “Sing Joy”, during the morning service.  Also, on that same day we will go as a church family to the Main Street Music Hall for the “Christmas on Main Street” show. The Music Hall has offered a special group rate for members of Faithbridge.  If you are interested in coming along, please sign up this Sunday in the church lobby or let Tina know so a seat can be reserved for you. The show begins at 3:00PM. To receive the group rate you must purchase your tickets through the church office.  We hope you will be able to join us!

Poinsettias

Continuing a tradition at Faithbridge we are inviting you to bring poinsettias to brighten the building throughout the Christmas season.  They may be tagged in memory of a loved one and placed near the fountain or the entrance to the worship center.

Church Holiday Hours

Next week, in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday, the church office will be closed on Wednesday and Thursday (11/21 & 11/22).  We apologize for any inconvenience, and wish everyone a blessed Thanksgiving!
