Pastor’s Piece

Happy (Almost) New Year from your Faithbridge Church family!  We are in the middle of a sermon series called “PEACE.”  Peace is a word that gets thrown around a lot, but it’s not something that we tend to experience much of in our world today.  As Christians we have been called to love God and love others, which requires us to be at peace in our own hearts.  Last week we talked about how we have a tendency to live lives of conflict.  Instead of sharing, we try to make sure that we get ahead.  Instead of merely disagreeing, we make enemies out of those we don’t agree with.  All of this creates unhealthy and unnecessary tension in our marriages, families, neighborhoods, workplaces, churches, and our country.   We know that our God desires that we live at peace with Him and to love one another.  If you missed last week’s sermon, you can watch it at www.faithbridgelakechurch.com/watch-the-service/

This week’s sermon will be titled “The Heart of Peace.”  We’ll be asking the question, “how can my heart truly be at peace?”  God’s scriptures have a lot to teach us about living with a heart full of peace.  Then, next week we’ll be discussing the truth about forgiveness.  Biblical forgiveness is often misunderstood and misapplied.  Join us in the service this week and next week as we walk through what the scriptures have to say about loving our neighbor, living at peace, and forgiving one another when we fail.

Blessings,

Pastor Andy
