Newsletter Week of February 4th

Pastor’s Piece
This month our sermon series is called “The 5th Gospel.”  In this series, we are taking a journey together into the Holy Land through pictures, videos, stories and scripture.  This week we’ll be talking about prayer- it’s importance in our lives, and what people’s prayer lives look like in the Holy Land today.  I’ll be taking you to the Western Wall, or the Wailing Wall.  The Western Wall is the location on the side of the temple mount that Jews from around the world come to so that they might pray to God much like their ancestors did in the great temple that Solomon built for God.  Just on top of this wall, in the middle of the old temple complex, stands the Dome of the Rock- where Muslims from all over the world come to pray.  This magnificent, but relatively small area, is at the center of the prayer life of people of two different faiths who are praying to the same God in very different ways.  And then I’ll take you to a couple of special places that we understand Jesus regularly went to pray.  I hope you’ll join us on Sunday- and remember to watch the service live on Facebook if you can’t be with us in person!
Blessings,
Pastor Andy
