Pastor’s Piece

Well, that was fun!  I had a great time this weekend celebrating Faithbridge’s 10th Anniversary with you!  The pictures say it best, and I think Betty McAdams said it next-best:
“I think we can all feel good about the events and especially the attendance at the carnival.  I was most concerned about it given the cool temperatures and on and off rain.  But God did His best to clear it out when we needed it and maybe even with the weather; we had more than we would have if the weather was sunny and warm.  I am so impressed with the workers and the help we had on all of the teams.  So many hard workers!  Our objective of putting on the face of God to our guests and community was a beautiful success.  I know the children were having a blast which was heartwarming.”
Please give Betty a big thank-you when you see her.  She stepped up and took a leadership role and really made all our hopes and plans come to fruition.  Thank you to everyone who served this weekend, as we both opened our doors to the community and celebrated a significant milestone in the life of Faithbridge.  I hope you join me in thanking God for what was been and praying that God will lead as we continue to move forward and Bridge the Gap for Christ at the Lake.
This week, we’re going to be celebrating our graduating seniors (see the note below).  Please bring a card and join me in praying for the next exciting chapter God has in store for their lives!

 Graduation Celebration
This Sunday, May 19th we will be hosting a Graduate Celebration reception following the morning service.  Please plan to join us for refreshments as we lift up our graduates. We really want to recognize all graduates from near or far, so please share the names of any graduates you know of with the church office and let us know if they will be able to attend on Sunday. We will be throwing a card shower for Sarah McRoberts, Lincoln Myers and Matthew Price, three Faithbridge graduates. Please feel free to bring a card if you’d like. If you have or know of any other students graduating this year, please let us know so we can celebrate their accomplishment!

10th Anniversary Celebration

Our 10th Anniversary weekend celebration this past Saturday and Sunday was a hit! Despite the weather, we had nearly 250 people from our community come out Saturday to the Mother’s Day Weekend Kids Carnival Bash and the Old Fashioned Sing Along & Ice Cream Social. Then Bishop Bob Farr joined us for Sunday worship to preach and inspire us to “mark our present” as we look ahead to the next 10 years for our church, and we enjoyed a hearty brunch together.  Thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, parking attendants and church members who gave of their time and talents to bless our community and celebrate these 10 years of impact our church has made at the Lake.
