We have the opportunity to attend some awesome events this year and into next. Stay after church this Sunday to hear about these opportunities and connect with other youth group families.
Charge Conference Meeting
Charge Conference is scheduled for Sunday, October 15th at 2:00 p.m. at Harper Chapel United Methodist Church in Osage Beach.
Capital Campaign Update Meeting
On Sunday, October 22nd we will have a brief meeting at Faithbridge following the service. At that time we will provide an update on the progress of the Capital Campaign.
Walk on the Rocks
Faithbridge will again be participating in the community “Walk on the Rocks” event at the HyVee parking lot on Thursday, October 26th from 4:00-7:00 PM. Children from all over the area will gather to collect treats. If you’d like to pass out candy at the event, please stop in the lobby to sign up for a time slot, or let Tina know. If not, you can still bring bags of candy to be given out that night. There is a collection box in the church lobby.
Soup & Chili Cook Off
On November 12th immediately after the service join us in a friendly competition by making up a crock-pot full of a soup or chili. Everyone in attendance will be given two votes to cast, one for your favorite soup and one for your favorite chili. A $5 suggested donation or an amount of your generosity will be accepted and appreciated. All funds raised will go to support the Ignite Youth Ministry. Please let Abby know if you will be bringing a soup or chili, but keep it a secret from everyone else so the voting is unbiased! More info will be forthcoming.
Faithbridge Family Christmas
Mark your calendars now for the Christmas party at Faithbridge. Now is the time to invite your friends and neighbors to the event on Friday, December 15th at 5:30 p.m. We will begin with pot luck at the church, followed by the “Christmas on Main Street” show at 7:00. It is sure to be a festive evening filled with fun. Plan to attend and bring a friend!
Ways to Get Connected
The next Hope House Volunteer Days are October 25th (Wed.), 27th (Fri.), and 28th (Sat.) from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m
So, this is a big week in the Blacksher household. That very well may be the understatement of the year! Kristen and I are very excited to be checking into the hospital early on Thursday morning to meet Baby Boy Blacksher II. Please keep Kristen and the baby in your prayers this week. I won’t be with you in worship this weekend, but you won’t want to miss it! A very good friend of mine, Rev. Karen Hayden, will be preaching for us on Sunday. Karen serves as the Director of Pastoral Excellence for the Missouri Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Yes, she’s kind of a big deal! I know that you will be blessed by her message. As long as all goes well, I do plan to be back with you on Sunday the 15th as we explore together our new sermon series, “How Do You Measure a Life?”
Blessed to bless,
