Good News for Tuesday, March 2nd
I’ve got some news that many of you will find exciting. We will begin in-person worship services on Sunday, April 4th… which is Easter Sunday! I know that many of us have been longing for this day, and it will be here soon. Per the Bishop’s orders we will continue to practice social distancing and masks will be required in the building- it’s our way of taking care of one another. I very much look forward to getting to see you and worship our risen Savior with you on Easter Sunday!
As we prepare to hold in-person worship services again, I wanted to let you know that we’ll have a workday on Wednesday, March 31st to help get the building ready. Times and other details will be coming out in future newsletters.
We also know from our survey that more than a third of our congregation will not be ready to return to in-person worship on Easter Sunday. That’s ok too! If that is you, know that we love you and that God’s Holy Spirit will be just as present with you over the internet as it is in the church building! Your comfort and safety are my highest priority right now. I also want you to know that we’re working on making some changes to the camera system so that you can have an even better experience worshipping from home. You can worship from home and continue to participate in community life through our small groups, mission projects, and fellowship events.
It feels to me like this long dark winter is beginning to lift. I am hopeful for what is to come for our community and our church, and I hope that you are too! I would like to invite you to join us for the last 4 weeks of online worship- you won’t want to miss it! We’ve got 2 more weeks of the sermon series about Moses’ life. Then on March 21st we’ll hear a message from our Bishop. And then on March 28th we’ll celebrate Palm Sunday in preparation for Jesus’ death and eventual resurrection on Easter Sunday. You can worship with us every Sunday at 9:30am at forthelake.online.church.
If there is anything that your church family or I can do for you, please don’t hesitate to reach out! Stay well.
Blessings in the wilderness,
Pastor Andy Blacksher

New Ladies Bible Study
The next new session of Women’s Bible Study will begin on Tuesday, March 9th at 9:30, and meet each Tuesday. They will begin a study called “Sermon on the Mount” by Jen Wilken. What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven?
The Sermon on the Mount articulates what the life of a Christ-follower should look like, asking us the same questions it posed to its original hearer? How does a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? In this 9-session study, examine the words of Jesus in-depth as He challenges us to think differently about repentance, salvation, and sanctification. For more information please contact Barb Bierman at email@example.com.
