Good News for Sunday, March 14th
Faithbridge Church, meet Wesley Spargo! I told you in last week’s newsletter that we will again be receiving an intern through the Missouri Annual Conference’s Crossroads Ministry Intern program. I’m pleased to announce Wesley Spargo as our new intern. Wesley is a sophomore at Central Methodist University. He is majoring in Religion and Church Leadership and believes that God is calling him into full-time ordained ministry in the United Methodist Church. Wesley’s is a self-described die hard St. Louis Cardnials fan, an Eagle Scout, and he loves history, the outdoors and traveling and trying new things. You’re really going to enjoy getting to know him!
Wesley will be with us from May 22nd through July 27th. During that time he’ll be learning, growing, and leading in a number of ministry areas including leading in both our online and in-person worship services, the kid’s camp, missions work in the community, he’ll contribute to newsletters, and you’ll even get an opportunity to hear him preach.
Now here’s the sad part- our new friend Wesley needs a home! We need someone to offer to take him in for the summer. All he needs is a private bedroom, a private bathroom, and access to your kitchen. I told him that we have such a generous congregation filled with great hosts that I know we’ll find him a great home! If you would be open to the possibility of letting Wesley stay with you, please reply to this email and let us know. **Note, we’re out of the office this week, but will get back with you on March 22nd.
Some of you may remember that Crossroads is the same program that brought us Abby Pepper (who we later hired) and others a few years ago, and we’ve been invited to participate as a placement site once again. It is a great opportunity for college students to explore the possibility of ministry as a career. Just think, you might be able to have a formative impact on a young preacher who will touch tens of thousands of lives over a 40 year ministry career!
I know that you’ll join me in praying for Wesley until he’s here with us. In the meantime, I hope that you’ll continue to worship with us every Sunday at 9:30am at forthelake.online.church. It’s also very easy to invite a friend to come with you to church these days- just share that link with them! This Sunday will be special as we are going to be hearing a message that you won’t want to miss from our Bishop, Rev. Bob Farr.
Blessings in the wilderness,
Pastor Andy Blacksher

It’s not too late to join the new Women’s Bible Study. They meet each Tuesday at 9:30. They are working on a study called “Sermon on the Mount” by Jen Wilken. What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven?

Join us Wednesday, March 31st from 10:00-2:00 for a church workday.
