Newsletter Week of March 29

Good News for Thursday, April 1st

Remember that we will resume in-person worship this Easter Sunday, April 4th.  Even after that date you will continue to be able to worship with us online every Sunday morning at 9:30am at

Pastor’s Piece

Happy Holy Week everybody!  I can’t wait to celebrate the risen Christ with you this Sunday!  If you haven’t heard, we are resuming in-person worship this Sunday at 9:30am.  I filmed a video to show you a little bit about what you can expect and you can WATCH THE VIDEO HERE.  Our Bishop is requiring that all worshipers wear a mask at all times and practice social distancing- and before you ask, yes the rules still apply even if you have been fully vaccinated already as many of us have.  We’re going to continue to do our part to keep each other safe.  At the same time, it’s going to be a joy to see so many of you again!

I wanted to cover some FAQs really quickly-

  1. We do have room for you!  We’ve come up with a seating arrangement that has 177 chairs in the sanctuary that are in large rows 6 feet apart.  My best guess is that we can seat about 80-100 people socially distanced.  We will also have an overflow option available if we run out of room.  If you’re ready to be back, we’re ready for you!
  2. There WILL be coffee and doughnuts provided again, so come early (and yes, you may remove your mask while scarfing down a glazed doughnut!)
  3. The nursery will be fully staffed and open for all children on Sunday.
  4. There will not be children’s Sunday School at this time due to a lack of teachers.  If you have older children, are welcome to sit in the service or join younger siblings in the nursery if they like.  If you would like more information about what it’s like to volunteer leading the Children’s Sunday School on a rotational basis, please talk with Meredith Stith

I know that at least a third of us aren’t ready to attend in-person worship quite yet, and that’s ok!  WE will continue to provide a livestream of the service at 9:30am on Sundays at 9:30am at!  And you can view the recording of the service later (usually by 6pm on Sunday night) on our website  I wanted to add a quick note- we realize that there were a few issues with the quality of both the video and audio of the livestream last week.  Know that we are aware of these issues, and that we’ve got good people working to resolve them.  Having said that, I can’t say that we’ve been able to fix these problems as quickly as I’d hoped- we still may be a few weeks out.  Please hang in there, continue to show some grace, and know that we’re working to make the online experience as seamless as possible!  As Paul said in Romans 8:28, “We know that God works all things together for good for the ones who love God…”

I feel so grateful and so blessed to serve as your pastor!  Thank you for continuing to be a blessing in this world.
 Blessings in the wilderness,

Pastor Andy Blacksher

Connect, Grow and Serve…

Thank you to all those who came by the church to help with our church workday. The church is shiny and clean, and ready for everyone to worship together.  Thank you for blessing us with your hard work!

We are getting excited about the prospect of in-person services again.  For those who still want to worship remotely, we will have a new advanced video system so the services can be live-streamed, in addition to recording.  We are looking for several volunteers to help operate the new equipment.  If you are concerned about dealing with new technology, no need. We will provide all the training you’ll need.  Please contact the church office or Larry Melville if you’d be interested in being part of this new ministry, or if you’d just like more information.  Thanks and God bless.

Have you ever noticed the smiling faces that greet everyone who enters Faithbridge each Sunday morning? Those are members of our Hospitality Team.  If you’d be interested in smiling for others on Sunday mornings, please contact the church office for more information about becoming a member of the team.
We need your smile! 🙂

Back Again this summer!

As we look toward a brighter summer, we are pleased to announce that Ignite All-Day Summer Camp will return to Faithbridge Church this July 19-23, 2021.  The cost is $75 and is open to all kids 6-12.

It is a blast for the kids!  If you have a potential camper in your family or your neighborhood, I encourage you to sign up soon. Scholarships are available by contacting the church office.  In the weeks and months ahead there will be more information available about how you can help bless these children through scholarships and volunteer opportunities.
